Before seeking office, Esther dedicated her career to financial accountability and energy security initiatives to reduce cost of energy for Montgomery County families. She also was a consummate volunteer:

Taxpayer Advocacy: As President of the Montgomery County Taxpayers League, Esther fought for government efficiency. Esther sponsors the annual MCPS Operating Budget Palooza, bringing hundreds of residents and officials together to do a deep dive into how MCPS funds are actually spent.

Non-Profit Leadership: As President/Chair of a local faith-based non-profit, Esther provides rigorous legal and operational oversight, managing budgets and strategic planning to ensure long-term financial sustainability and fiduciary compliance.

Education Advocacy: As an NAACP Parent Council Representative, Esther empowers minority parents to advocate for their children’s education, ensuring equitable treatment and academic success.

In 2025, the MCPS graduation rate declined, and more than 11% of students in that year’s graduating class did not earn a diploma then. Behind every one of those statistics is a child, a family, and a future with fewer opportunities. As the mother of a child who repeatedly fell through the cracks in MCPS (and MSDE found violation), I know firsthand that our county can and must do better. I think it is time to stop wasting taxpayer dollars on poor decisions, including those that result in costly lawsuits, and instead invest those resources where they belong: in our students and classrooms so no other children fall between the cracks. I’m voting for Esther because she’s committed to bringing accountability to county government. I also believe she is the only candidate that has the knowledge and experience, including a master’s degree in taxation, to make Montgomery County government more effective, more affordable, and a place where every resident has more opportunities and not less.
