Because Montgomery County is Too Important to Lose

Health & Human Services

What is the issue?

Montgomery County should provide a strong safety net for residents who need help while ensuring that taxpayer-funded programs are effective, accountable, and financially sustainable. Esther Wells believes government should focus resources on those who need them most, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make it easier for residents to navigate services across County, State, and local agencies. She will bring greater fiscal oversight and transparency to Health and Human Services, strengthen partnerships with nonprofit and faith-based organizations, and focus on helping residents build long-term independence through workforce development, skills training, and financial counseling. The goal is a system that provides meaningful support today while creating pathways to greater stability and self-sufficiency tomorrow.
