Because Montgomery County is Too Important to Lose

Economic Development

What is the issue?

A strong local economy means more opportunity, greater affordability, and a stronger tax base for everyone. By broadening our tax base and encouraging responsible growth, we can generate the revenue needed to repair our schools and address our county budget crisis, while working to reduce the tax burden on homeowners. I will champion energy choices that are safe, reliable, and affordable, remove unnecessary barriers to starting a business, and strengthen the County’s efforts to showcase Montgomery County as a great place to live, work, visit, and invest.

What it means for you

  • Broaden the tax base: attract new corporate headquarters & high-paying jobs to allow us to lower property & income tax rates for everyone while increasing the revenue we need
  • Restore the $692 Homeowner Property tax credit (ITOC)
  • Open for Growth: Reverse Montgomery County’s reputation of being "closed for business" to being the premier destination for global corporations & visionary developers by offering speed, certainty, and world-class incentives.
  • Energy Choice: Champion a mix of safe, affordable and reliable energy sources
  • Eliminate Energy Mandates: Block or weaken all-electric energy mandates to protect property owners from high compliance costs & penalties
  • Improve marketing & tourism of the County
