REPLAY: FY2027 Montgomery County Council Hearing on Proposed $8B Operating budget

Esther Wells’ public comments on Thursday April 9th, 2026, regarding Elrich’s FY2027 proposed $8B operating budget. I do not support the 6.3% property tax hike & the 3% income tax hike. I also do not support creating a projected structural deficit of over $257 million next year, requiring another 9.85 cent tax increase next year to close the deficit.

Taxpayers cannot afford 4 more years of Elrich under a Jawando Administration. Vote for Esther, County Executive.
