Because Montgomery County is Too Important to Lose

Gun Rights

What is the issue?

Esther Wells believes law-abiding Montgomery County residents have a fundamental right to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. She supports the rights of responsible, legally compliant gun owners and believes government should focus on keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals and those who are legally prohibited from possessing them—not placing unnecessary burdens on law-abiding residents. Esther also believes houses of worship and other community institutions should have the ability to take reasonable, lawful steps to protect the people they serve. As County Executive, she will support responsible gun ownership while holding government accountable for enforcing the laws already on the books and addressing the violent crime that threatens our communities.

What it means for you

As County Executive, I will fight rising antisemitism directly, support security funding for places of worship, and enable congregations to use their own members – trained to the State’s standards – to protect themselves.
